Many many ideas have come from us.
I've suggested many things such as skills and have seen other peoples suggestions make it to release.
The whole concept of 'getting back to the good old days of prophecies' spawned EOTN for example, or was at least a major contributor.
Another example would be a 'smite condition' skill, which also is here.
Many more could be mentioned for PvE and PvP but i have no time to go through them right now.

When I meant "touche'", I meant good point. I want no fightz
At least we can only use Junundu in the Desolation.

Ahh touche' not touchie. Misread on my part.
Yeah, forgot about GW:EN as a whole as being a community thing. I mean, if the forums weren't so obessed with Gwen and the "mystery of the tapestry shard" (a really MINOR character in Prophecies when you think about it), do you really think A.net would have centered a campaign around her like they did?
Also sunglasses and other more "casual" wear in GW:EN was suggested a lot.

What a lot of people miss is that their suggestions are not ignored because Arenanet is ignoring them, but rather Arenanet does not have the capacity or ability to implement them at this time, or even later.

You ideas and suggestions are hit and miss to Anet. You may think your ideas are valid and ther reason Anet does something, but, they aren't. Anet does something based on what Anet feels is best for the ENTIRE community as a whole. Not because 10 people on a forum said it was. Only a very small portion of the pie posts on forums and only a very small portion ever get lucky to have an idea that Anet ALREADY had the idea for to begin with. So, you're nothing special when it comes to ideas, you're just lucky you placed your bet on odd or even when odd or even came up to be input into GW.

I wonder if the OP and some people suggesting a lot of ideas are more asking for attention than truly wanting to contribute to the game. If you "give" an idea to Anet, you should just simply leave it there. Why spend additional time "pushing" your ideas? I can understand that people think very highly of their ideas and want very strongly to improve the game, but leave Anet's devs make the best out of what has been proposed.
An idea can be explained, refined or corrected, but repetition (ad nauseam?) does not make it better! And it's even worse when you're calling for Anet's attention, GWG is not Anet!

- What would you think? Interpreting what community wants has a value, sure, but that doesn't mean a company who is responsible for making profitable products at the risk of bankrupt will heed to every imaginable suggestion.
If you ask community what they want... you will get the response "everything".
Mounts, no mounts, flying mounts, underground mounts, space ships, intelligent enemies, multiple enemies, few powerful enemies, primary/secondary/tertiary professions, unlimited skill choices, no skills at all, equippable skills, skills as a reward, characters that start with all skills, swimming as a skill, cooking as a skill, dancing as a skill, improved trade system, removal of gold from the game, auction house, jailhouse, own house, abandoned houses, palaces, taverns, dens, grind, no grind, optional grind.
So basically you understand that you're in position where you can demand anything without thinking of consequences, how much it would cost and how difficult it would be to implement. You don't make people choose one thing or another and it's bound to fail.

Good one... I see where you comming from... But I still think that the better ideas should be considered by anet and the dev team for GW2. And all the ideas we have for GW2 are suggestions to maybe give some support to the dev team for GW2... they are gonna make the decisions what to implement and what not. (thank god and anet XD) Otherwise you would end up having this;
Mounts, no mounts, flying mounts, underground mounts, space ships, intelligent enemies, multiple enemies, few powerful enemies, primary/secondary/tertiary professions, unlimited skill choices, no skills at all, equippable skills, skills as a reward, characters that start with all skills, swimming as a skill, cooking as a skill, dancing as a skill, improved trade system, removal of gold from the game, auction house, jailhouse, own house, abandoned houses, palaces, taverns, dens, grind, no grind, optional grind.
Got your point...

<3 Love. Much love. Love this post.
In the end, Anet is the final decider.
Theres some good ideas, and lots of bad ideas (insert Animaniacs joke here).
The good ideas are divided into realistic, doable ideas and unrealistic, undoable ideas.
The realistic, doable ideas are then further divided into importance.
So even if you have a good, realistic idea, its relevance to game might not warrant it to be implemented.
